Ence posts Q1 net loss on Uruguay writedown

MADRID, May 18 (Reuters) - Spanish paper, pulp and energy company Ence (ENC.MC) swung to a first-quarter net loss of 93.8 million euros ($127 million) on Monday after making a writedown against asset deterioration in Uruguay.

This compares with a 12.4 million euro net profit made in the first quarter of 2008.
