AEP Texas Welsh 3 coal unit shut
NEW YORK, July 2 (Reuters) - American Electric Power Co Inc's (AEP.N) 528-megawatt Unit 3 at the Welsh coal-fired power station in Texas shut on July 1-3, the company told Texas regulators in a report.
The company did not say when the unit would return but said in another report it planned to conduct maintenance from July 2-12.
The 1,584 MW Welsh plant is located in Cason in Titus County, about 130 miles east of Dallas. The station has three 528 MW units, which entered service in 1977, 1980 and 1982.
One MW powers about 500 homes in Texas.
AEP's Southwest Electric Power Co subsidiary owns and operates the station.
