 NEW YORK, June 4 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move
on June 4:
 JOHNSON & JOHNSON (JNJ.N)
 The company said it was "very optimistic" about the future
of its pharmaceutical unit and detailed plans to address five
therapeutic areas. [ID:nN0493662]
 Shares of the Dow component slid 0.1 percent to $56.11.
 WAL-MART STORES INC (WMT.N)
 The discount retailer said it would add more than 22,000
jobs in its U.S. namesake stores in 2009, pointing to lower
growth compared with this year. [ID:nN03123661]
 Shares slid 0.2 percent to $50.77.
 COSTCO WHOLESALE CORP (COST.O)
 The retailer reported a drop of 7 percent in its May
same-store sales when fuel is included. Comparable sales were
up 1 percent excluding fuel. [ID:nBNG109510]
 Shares fell 3 percent to $47.
 AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS INC (AEO.N)
 The retailer reported a drop of 7 percent in its May
same-store sales. [ID:nWNAB6602]
 Shares fell 2.7 percent to $14.81.
 AEROPOSTALE INC (ARO.N)
 The retailer reported an increase of 19 percent in its May
same-store sales. [ID:nWNAB6629]
 Shares rose 0.3 percent to $36.76.
 GAP INC (GPS.N)
 The retailer reported a drop of 6 percent in its May
same-store sales. [ID:nWNAB6611]
 Shares sank 4.2 percent to $17.45.
 TARGET CORP (TGT.N)
 The company reported a drop of 6.1 percent in its May
same-store sales. [ID:nWNAB6640]
 Shares fell 2.2 percent to $40.08.
 WIND RIVER SYSTEMS WIND.O
 INTEL CORP (INTC.O)
 Shares of Wind River soared 44 percent to $11.55 after
Intel said it would buy the company for about $884 million.

 Shares of Intel, a Dow component, rose 1.6 percent to
$16.20.
 CIENA CORP (CIEN.O)
 Shares fell 2.4 percent to $10.76 after it reported a
bigger-than-expected second-quarter loss and sales that were
lower than expected. [ID:nN03110699]
 GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC (GS.N)
 Bernstein Research upgraded the financial services company
to outperform from market perform and raised its price target
to $176 from $113. [ID:nWNAB6552]
 Shares rose 2 percent to $144.99.
 APPLE INC (AAPL.O)
 Societe Generale started coverage on the company at buy,
calling it one of the strongest brands in the consumer
electronic industry. [ID:nBNG386177]
 Separately, Apple said it would invest up to $1 billion
over the next nine years to build a data center in North
Carolina. [ID:nN03132336]
 Shares fell 0.2 percent to $140.65.
 HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP (HIG.N)
 The insurance company's CEO said he would retire by the end
of the year. [ID:nN04188920]
 Shares fell 0.1 percent to $14.84.
 FORD MOTOR CO (F.N)
 The auto company's car venture in China sold 48.7 percent
more vehicles from a year earlier, its Chinese partner said.

 Shares rose 1.1 percent to $6.24.
 UAL CORP (UAUA.O)
 The parent company of United Airlines has asked Boeing
(BA.N) and Airbus (EAD.PA) to put forward competing bids for up
to 150 new airliners, according to a report in the Wall Street

 Shares fell 1.9 percent to $5.18.
 HALOZYME THERAPEUTICS INC (HALO.O)
 The company said it wouldn't further develop its
bisphosphonate-PH20 Phase 1 program for osteoporosis based on
results of an open-label study. [ID:nBNG337653]
 Shares fell 1.6 percent to $7.63.
 COLLECTIVE BRANDS INC (PSS.N)
 The footwear retailer reported first-quarter earnings that
beat expectations but forecast a challenging sales environment
in the second quarter. [ID:nBNG489889]
 Shares fell 1.4 percent at $15.61.
 GEOEYE INC (GEOY.O)
 The company said the previously-announced problem with one
of its satellites didn't materially impact revenue and that
even under the worst case, the impact will be less than 5
percent of projected revenue.[ID:nBNG337693]
 Shares rose 4.1 percent at $23.
 HOT TOPIC INC (HOTT.O)
 The company posted a worse-than-expected 6.4 percent drop
in May same-store sales, hurt by lower transactions and a fall
in average transaction amount. [ID:nBNG318827]
 Shares fell 6.2 percent to $7.08.
 COMTECH TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORP (CMTL.O)
 The telecommunications equipment maker posted quarterly
earnings that beat estimates. [ID:nBNG291250]
 Shares rose 3.9 percent to $30.51.
 ADOLOR CORP (ADLR.O)
 The biopharmaceutical company said it was cutting about 28
percent of its workforce and restructuring its discovery group
to focus on late-stage, preclinical compounds to lower cash
burn. [ID:nBNG318680]
 Shares fell 1.3 percent to $2.23.
 G-III APPAREL GROUP LTD (GIII.O)
 The clothing maker posted a narrower-than-expected
quarterly loss, helped by strength at its dress and sportswear
businesses, and forecast second-quarter revenue slightly above
Wall Street estimates. [ID:nBNG465869]
 Shares rose 11 percent to $9.34.
