 The Chinese car venture for Ford Motor Co (F.N) sold 48.7
percent more vehicles from a year earlier, the automaker's
Chinese partner said on Thursday.
 Sales were 110,796 vehicles in the first five months, up
from 100,183 units in the same period last year.

 Shares of Ford rose 1 cent to $6.19 in premarket trading.

 Discount retailer Wal-Mart (WMT.N) on Thursday said it
would add more than 22,000 jobs in its U.S. namesake stores in
2009.
 Last year, the Dow component created 33,800 jobs, though
that figure also includes positions in its Sam's Club
members-only chain stores.
