LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Following are the top 10 films at the North American box office for the U.S. Independence Day holiday weekend beginning on July 4, led by the new release "Hancock," according to studio estimates compiled on Sunday by Reuters.

1 (*) Hancock ........... $ 66.0 million

2 (1) WALL-E ............ $ 33.4 million

3 (2) Wanted ............ $ 20.6 million

4 (3) Get Smart ......... $ 11.1 million

5 (4) Kung Fu Panda ..... $ 7.5 million

6 (5) The Incredible Hulk .............. $ 5.0 million

7 (7) Indiana Jones and the

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ..... $ 3.9 million

8(23) Kit Kittredge: An American Girl .. $ 3.6 million

9 (9) Sex and the City .. $ 2.3 million

10(10) You Don't Mess with the Zohan .... $ 2.0 million

NOTE: Last weekend's ranking in parentheses. * = new release. "Hancock" was released on Tuesday evening.

"Hancock" and "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" were released by Columbia Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp.

"WALL-E" was produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and released by Walt Disney Pictures, both units of Walt Disney Co.

"Wanted" and "The Incredible Hulk" were released by General Electric Co's Universal Pictures. "Hulk" was produced by Marvel Entertainment Inc's Marvel Studios.

"Get Smart" and "Sex and the City" were released by Warner Bros Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc. The studio produced "Get Smart" with Australia's Village Roadshow Ltd. "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" was released by Picturehouse, also a unit of Time Warner.

Viacom Inc's Paramount Pictures released "Kung Fu Panda," which was produced by DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc; and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," which was produced by George Lucas' Lucasfilm.
