 NEW YORK, May 7 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks to watch on
Thursday:
 GENERAL MOTORS GM.N
 The automaker reported a first-quarter loss and said it
burned through $10.2 billion in the first quarter. For story

 Shares of the company, a Dow component, rose 5.4 percent to
$1.75 in premarket trade.
 WAL-MART STORES INC (WMT.N)
 The discount retailer, a Dow component, reported April
same-store sales results that beta expectations.

 Shares rose 3.8 percent to $51.40 in premarket trading.
 COSTCO WHOLESALE CORP (COST.O)
 The retailer reported a drop of 8 percent in its April
same-store sales, when the sale of fuel is included.

 The stock closed Wednesday at $46.87.
 NASDAQ OMX GROUP (NDAQ.O)
 The company reported adjusted first-quarter earnings that

 Shares closed Wednesday at $21.61.
 SARA LEE CORP (SLE.N)
 The food company reported third-quarter results that beat
expectations. [ID:nN07337436]
 Shares rose 4.9 percent to $9.40 in premarket trade.
 WARNER MUSIC GROUP (WMG.N)
 The company reported an adjusted second-quarter loss that
was narrower than expected. [ID:nN07301590]
 Shares closed Wednesday at $5.45.
 PEPSIAMERICAS INC (PAS.N)
 PEPSICO INC (PEP.N)
 PEPSI BOTTLING GROUP INC (PBG.N)
 PepsiAmericas on Thursday rejected an unsolicited takeover
bid from PepsiCo, saying it "significantly undervalues the
strategic benefits of system consolidation."
 The move came shortly after fellow Pepsi Bottling Group
also rejected a buyout offer from PepsiCo. [ID:nN07329197]
 Shares of PepsiAmericas closed Wednesday at $25.20 while
PepsiCo closed at $49.72 and Pepsi Bottling closed at $32.05.
 SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (SIRI.O)
 The radio company reported a quarterly loss that was

 Shares gained 13 percent to 60 cents in premarket trading.
 ELIZABETH ARDEN INC (RDEN.O)
 The cosmetics and perfume company reported an adjusted
third-quarter loss and said it was seeing "modest improvement"
in retail sales performance. [ID:nBNG467055]
 Shares closed Wednesday at $8.58.
 LIMITED BRANDS INC (LTD.N)
 The retailer reported a decline of 6 percent in its April
same-store sales. The analyst consensus was for a drop of 5.9
percent.
 Shares closed Wednesday at $13.21.
 ATLAS ENERGY RESOURCES LLC ATN.N
 The company reported first-quarter earnings of 45 cents a
share and revenue growth of 2 percent. The analyst consensus

 CISCO SYSTEMS INC (CSCO.O)
 The company late Wednesday reported third-quarter results
that beat expectations, and said its customers were seeing more

 Shares rose 2.2 percent to $20.05 in premarket trade.
 NEWS CORP
 The media company late Wednesday reported a drop in its
quarterly operating income, but said the worst effects of the
recession were behind it. [ID:nN06286474]
 Shares closed Wednesday at $10.65.
 PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL INC (PRU.N)
 The company reported adjusted first-quarter operating
income that beat expectations. [ID:nN06335589]
 Shares rose 2.6 percent to $36.50 in premarket trade.
 VICAL INC (VICL.O)
 The company entered a cooperative research and development
agreement with the U.S. Navy for the development of a vaccine
against the H1N1 strain of influenza virus. [ID:nBNG448760]
 Shares rose 19 percent to $2.50 in after-hours trade.
 TBS INTERNATIONAL LTD (TBSI.O)
 The dry bulk shipping company swung to a first-quarter
loss, hurt by a drop in freight rates. [ID:nBNG448884]
 Shares fell 18 percent to $9.65 in after-market trade.
 BLACKBOARD INC (BBBB.O)
 The online learning-software company agreed to acquire
privately held Angel Learning Inc for $95 million.

 Shares fell as much as 10 percent at $29.70 in trading
after the bell.
 ECLIPSYS CORP (ECLP.O)
 The company reported a better-than-expected quarterly
profit and raised its 2009 earnings outlook. [ID:nBNG476280]
 Shares gained 12 percent to $15 after the bell.
 VANDA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (VNDA.O)
 The drug-maker said U.S. health regulators approved its
treatment for schizophrenia. [ID:nBNG451351]
 Shares soared to $9.50 in premarket trade from their close
on Wednesday of $1.08.
 SYNCHRONOSS TECHNOLOGIES INC (SNCR.O)
 The communication software maker reported a 51 percent drop
in first-quarter profit and said it had secured deals with two

 Shares rose 5 percent in trading after the bell.
 ON SEMICONDUCTOR CORP (ONNN.O)
 The chipmaker forecast better-than-expected revenue for its

 Shares rose 8 percent at $6.56 in trading after the bell.
 MEDCATH CORP (MDTH.O)
 The hospital operator said it would delay the announcement
of its second-quarter results. [ID:nWNAB4809]
 Shares fell 14 percent in after-hours trade.
 HOT TOPIC INC (HOTT.O)
 The teen-clothing retailer posted April same-store sale
results that missed estimates. [ID:nBNG447954]
 Shares fell 15 percent to $10.53 in after-hours trade.
