Chile brewer 2nd-qtr sales volume up 4.3 pct

 SANTIAGO, July 8 (Reuters) - CCU CCU.SN (CCU.N), Chile's
largest brewer, said on Wednesday its sales volumes rose 4.3
percent in the second quarter from a year earlier, compared
with a 3.5 percent year-on-year increase in the first quarter
of 2009.
 Chilean wine exports rose 37.9 percent during the second
quarter, while Argentina, which accounts for about a quarter of
consolidated volumes, saw a 1.0 percent fall in beer sales
during the period, CCU said in a statement.
 During the first half of 2009, the company said its sales
volume rose 3.8 percent from the same period a year earlier.
