Argentina's Pampa Energia annual profit falls

BUENOS AIRES, March 10 (Reuters) - Pampa Energia (PAM.BA), Argentina's biggest integrated energy company, said on Tuesday its full-year 2008 net profit was 115.02 million pesos ($32 million), compared with a profit of 186.10 million pesos reported a year earlier.

The company's statement to the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange did not provide quarterly results.

Pampa Energia, which used to be called Pampa Holding, is the fourth most heavily weighted stock on Argentina's benchmark MerVal index .MERV. It controls electricity company Edenor (EDN.BA) and power transmission firm Transener (TRA.BA).
