UPDATE 1-Southern Peru hit by 6.0 quake, no damage reported

LIMA, July 12 (Reuters) - A 6.0 magnitude quake hit southern Peru early on Sunday but there were no reports of damages or injuries.

The quake's epicenter was 116.1 miles (186.8 km) deep, 36 miles (59 km) northwest of Juliaca and 485 miles (781 km) east-southeast of Lima, and it struck at 1:12 a.m. local time (0612 GMT), the U.S. Geological Survey said on its website.

Peru is a leading global minerals exporter. Officials at large mines in the region of Southern Copper (PCU.N) and Freeport-McMoRan's (FCX.N) Cerro Verde said operations were normal after the temblor. Officials at Xstrata's (XTA.L) Tintaya mine were not available for comment. (Additional reporting by Terry Wade in Lima; Editing by Cynthia Osterman)
