HEADLINE STOCKS-U.S. stocks on the move on May 14

 NEW YORK, May 14 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move
on Thursday:
 WAL-MART STORES INC (WMT.N)
 The discount retailer reported first-quarter earnings that
met expectations and gave a second-quarter outlook.

 Shares of the Dow component were flat at $50.02.
 KOHL'S CORP (KSS.N)
 The department store reported its first-quarter results,
which included a rise of 0.4 percent in sales. [ID:nN14462712]
 Shares rose 2.3 percent to $42.90.
 MBIA INC (MBI.N)
 A number of banks, including Citigroup (C.N), JPMorgan
Chase (JPM.N) and Barclays Plc (BARC.L) (BCS.N), have sued MBIA
Inc, charging that the bond insurer illegally restructured its
operations by moving $5 billion of assets and leaving a key
unit effectively insolvent. [ID:nN13428345]
 Shares of MBIA fell 1.1 percent to $5.63.
 IBM (IBM.N)
 The tech company late Wednesday affirmed its earnings
outlook for both 2009 and 2010, saying its focus on high-margin
software and its geographic diversity would help buffer the
impact of a weak economy. [ID:nN13385548]
 Shares of the company, a Dow component, fell 1 percent to
$101.21.
 DIGITALGLOBE INC (DGI.N)
 The initial public offering for the satellite image company
was priced at $19 a share late Wednesday, above the estimated
range, according to a source familiar with the matter.

 Shares rose 21 percent to $23.
 SONY CORP (SNE.N)
 The electronics company forecast a second straight year of
losses as the recession weighs on demand for consumer
electronics. [ID:nT305312]
 U.S.-listed shares of the company rose 0.7 percent to
$26.02 on Thursday.
 GENERAL MOTORS CORP GM.N
 The company is expected to send termination notices to up
to 2,000, or about a third, of its U.S. dealers, people briefed
on the plans told Reuters. [ID:nN13426331]
 The stock, a Dow component, fell 1.7 percent to $1.18.
 FORD MOTOR CO (F.N)
 The automaker said the proceeds of a stock offering not
totaled $1.6 billion. [ID:nWEN9106]
 Shares surged 3.8 percent to $5.15.
 LEAR CORP (LEA.N)
 The auto parts supplier swung to a first-quarter loss, hurt
by lower vehicle production in North America and Europe.

 Shares fell 2.1 percent to $1.37.
 GENERAL DYNAMICS CORP (GD.N)
 The company affirmed its full-year earnings outlook.

 Shares slid 0.2 percent to $55.18.
 PNC FINANCIAL SERVICES (PNC.N)
 The company announced a common stock offering of up to 15
million shares, according to an SEC filing.
 Shares fell 0.6 percent to $41.96.
 URBAN OUTFITTERS INC (URBN.O)
 The retailer reported first-quarter earnings that beat
expectations, though they were down from the prior year.
Same-store sales fell 9.6 percent in the quarter.

 Shares rose 2.9 percent to $19.38.
 DIRECTV GROUP (DTV.O)
 A federal court late Wednesday barred the satellite
television provider from releasing ads that could could give
customers the impression that bankrupt Charter Communications
Inc CHTRQ.PK is liquidating or might stop offering cable TV

 Shares rose 0.7 percent to $24.71.
 MEDICINES CO (MDCO.O)
 The company pulled the plug on development of an
experimental treatment to prevent blood clotting during
angioplasty as it is not expected to meet its main trial goal.

 Shares of the company, rose 2.3 percent to $7.17 after
falling steeply in the previous session.
 ENERSYS (ENS.N)
 The industrial battery maker raised its fourth-quarter
profit view but forecast a weak first quarter due to lower
sequential sales volume. [ID:nBNG469337]
 Shares fell 12 percent to $15.61.
 COMMVAULT SYSTEMS INC (CVLT.O)
 The company posted lower-than-expected quarterly earnings
and said it would not give a first-quarter outlook due to
economic uncertainties. [ID:nBNG296684]
 The shares fell 10 percent to $11.14.
