AFTER THE BELL-Savient jumps as FDA panel backs drug approval

NEW YORK, June 16 (Reuters) - Shares of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc (SVNT.O) rose 28.4 percent to $11.90 after the bell on Tuesday after a U.S. advisory panel urged the approval of the company's experimental gout drug.

Savient's shares had been halted ahead of the committee's vote and closed at $9.27. For details, see [ID:nN16298974]
