NEW YORK, June 18 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Thursday:
SLM CORP (SLM.N)
The company won a government contract to service student loans. [ID:nN17354927]
Shares surged 9.5 percent to $8.41.
J.M. SMUCKER (SJM.N)
The food company reported fourth-quarter earnings that easily beat expectations. [ID:nBNG260244]
Shares rose 9.8 percent to $47.92.
HLTH CORP HLTH.O
WEBMD HEALTH CORP (WBMD.O)
HLTH will merge into its WebMD unit in an all-stock deal. [ID:nBNG420714]
Shares of HLTH rose 2.9 percent to $12.10 while WebMD slid 0.9 percent to $27.97.
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
The company has been paying millions in bonuses in order to lure talent and retain investment bankers the company views as vital, the New York Post reported, citing sources. [ID:nLI729151]
Shares rose rose 1.9 percent to $12.53.
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC (AIG.N)
MORGAN STANLEY (MS.N)
DEUTSCHE BANK (DBKGn.DE) (DB.N)
AIG has chosen Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley as joint global coordinators for the more than $4 billion initial public offering of its Asian life insurance unit, sources said on Thursday. [ID:nHKG53885]
Shares of AIG rose 0.7 percent to $1.41 while Morgan Stanley rose 1.3 percent to $27.82 and U.S.-listed shares of Deutsche Bank were flat at $59.87.
LIZ CLAIBORNE INC (LIZ.N)
The company forecast an adjusted second-quarter operating loss that was about flat with its first quarter. [ID:nWEN0722]
Shares sank 10 percent to $3.59.
JOHNSON & JOHNSON (JNJ.N)
The company, along with Shire Plc (SHP.L), won the backing of Europe's highest court on Thursday in their battle for data exclusivity against a generic rival for Alzheimer's drug Reminyl, the court said. [ID:nLI79267]
Shares of the Dow component rose 0.2 percent to $55.30.
WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES INC (WGO.N)

Shares fell 5.3 percent to $6.14.
PIER 1 IMPORTS INC (PIR.N)

YRC WORLDWIDE INC (YRCW.O)
The company reached a deal with a pension fund that allows the struggling No. 1 U.S. trucking company to use real estate as collateral in lieu of payments to the fund. [ID:nN18381339]
Separately, Robert W. Baird downgraded it to underperform, expecting it to eventually go bankrupt. The firm said that could take several months or quarters to happen. [ID:nBNG479250]

PAYCHEX (PAYX.O)
JPMorgan downgraded the two payroll companies, saying that given current valuations, "we think there are better ways to play an economic recovery."
Shares of Automatic Data slid 1.1 percent to $35.80 while Paychex fell 1 percent to $26.63.
DUKE ENERGY CORP (DUK.N)
The company will sign an agreement with Areva SA to start exclusive talks to build a new generation nuclear reactor in Ohio. [ID:nLI67871]
Shares edged 0.1 percent higher to $14.30.
CHEVRON CORP (CVX.N)

LIONS GATE ENTERTAINMENT CORP (LGF.N)

Shares rose 6.9 percent to $5.58.
