NEW YORK, June 23 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Tuesday:
BOEING CO (BA.N)
The plane maker delayed the first flight of its 787 aircraft again in order to reinforce an area within the side-of-body section of the aircraft. [ID:nN23546619]
Shares of the Dow component fell 7.9 percent to $43.22.
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
The company proposed issuing $2.54 billion of common stock in exchange for existing preferred stock in an effort to raise capital demanded by federal regulators. [ID:nN23542865]
Shares of the Dow component rose 2.6 percent to $12.25.
LABORATORY CORPORATION OF AMERICA (LH.N)
MONOGRAM BIOSCIENCES INC MGRM.O
Laboratory Corp agreed to buy Monogram for about $106.7 million. [ID:nN2319381]
Shares of Laboratory fell 1.1 percent to $64.97 while Monogram soared 169 percent to $4.52.
AT&T INC (T.N)
MOTOROLA INC (MOT.N)
The company extended extended a network equipment supply agreement with Alcatel-Lucent (ALUA.PA) and said it would soon start selling a cellphone from Motorola. [ID:nN23469928]
Shares of AT&T, a Dow component, rose 1.8 percent to $24.58 while Motorola shares gained 3.3 percent to $6.23.
HUNTSMAN CORP (HUN.N)
The chemical company reached a $1.73 billion agreement with Credit Suisse Group AG and Deutsche Bank AG to settle claims in connection with Huntsman's terminated merger with Hexion Specialty Chemicals. [ID:nLN456052]
Shares fell 5.2 percent to $5.70.
METROPCS COMMUNICATIONS INC (PCS.N)
TYCO ELECTRONICS INC (TEL.N)
Standard & Poor's is replacing Tyco in the S&P 500 .SPX with MetroPCS. [ID:nWEN0866]
Shares of MetroPCS rose 4.5 percent to $14.23 while Tyco slid 3.6 percent to $18.41.
ACURA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (ACUR.O)
The company said its experimental pain drug Acurox would not be approved on the scheduled action date of June 30, based on a review letter from U.S. health regulators. [ID:nBNG409299]
Shares dropped 21.3 percent to $5.96.
BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP (BSX.N)
The company said a large clinical trial showed early intervention with implantable devices called cardiac resynchronization therapy can slow the progression of heart failure. [ID:nN23542970]
Shares rose 3.7 percent to $9.58.
UBS AG (UBS.N)
The U.S. Justice Department may drop a legal case aimed at forcing Swiss bank UBS to reveal the names of 52,000 wealthy American clients suspected of offshore tax evasion, according to a report in the New York Times. [ID:nLN515704]
Later, the Justice Department said it wasn't planning to drop the lawsuit. [ID:nWEN0881]
U.S.-listed shares gained 6.2 percent to $13.30.
CYTEC INDUSTRIES INC (CYT.N)
The company forecast a loss before items for the second quarter and cut its full-year earnings outlook, citing weak demand in the coating resins and engineered materials segments. [ID:nBNG482759]
Shares sank 11 percent to $16.10.
VISA INC (V.N)
MASTERCARD INC (MA.N)
The companies could face lower revenue and pressure on their stock prices amid a push for increased U.S. regulation of credit cards, analysts said.
Shares of Visa rose 1 percent to $61.87 while MasterCard was up 0.8 percent to $157.98.
KROGER CO (KR.N)
The supermarket chain reported first-quarter results and affirmed its full-year outlook. [ID:nN23450921]
Shares rose 0.2 percent to $21.83.
THOMSON REUTERS CORP (TRI.N)
The company plans to withdraw its shares from the London Stock Exchange, as well as the Nasdaq, remaining listed on the New York and Toronto exchanges. Shares fell 1.3 percent to $28.71 on the NYSE. [ID:nN22523423]
STEELCASE INC (SCS.N)
The company reported a surprise quarterly profit and said it would cut another 200 jobs globally. [ID:nBNG407520]
Shares surged 5.6 percent to $5.34.
CF INDUSTRIES INC (CF.N)
AGRIUM INC (AGU.N)
Agrium is pushing forward with its hostile bid for CF after holders of more than 60 percent of CF backed the offer. [ID:nN23539879]
Shares of CF rose 4.7 percent to $72.57 while U.S.-listed shares of Agrium advanced 4.5 percent to $40.64.
FORD MOTOR CO (F.N)
The United Auto Workers union is in talks with Ford aimed at ensuring the automaker remains competitive with domestic rivals that have been reorganized with federal funding, a union official said on Tuesday. [ID:nN2361055]
Shares rose 1.9 percent to $5.48.
APPLE INC (AAPL.O)
Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs was seen at the company's headquarters on Monday by a Reuters reporter, underscoring speculation that he may have returned to work from medical leave. [ID:nN22405730]
Shares fell 2.7 percent to $133.68.
ESTEE LAUDER COS INC (EL.N)
Barclays Capital upgraded the company to equal weight, saying it saw consistent organic sales trends, margin expansion and a more efficient supply chain at the cosmetics company over time. [ID:nBNG496266]
Shares rose 3.1 percent to $31.55.
CONOCOPHILLIPS (COP.N)
Bernstein upgraded the stock to outperform, saying its exploration activity and potential restructuring were likely to improve valuation. [ID:nBNG64188]
Shares rose 2 percent to $41.24.
GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC (GS.N)
FBR raised its price target on Goldman to $160 from $140, "given what has been a better-than-expected pick-up of market share after disruptions at competitors."
Goldman shares gained 2.5 percent to $140.42.
STARBUCKS CORP (SBUX.O)
Robert W. Baird upgraded the company to outperform from neutral, writing that it was more confident in the coffee chain's near-term outlook.
Shares rose 4.5 percent to $14.32.
NEWS CORP (NWSA.O)
The company's MySpace social networking site plans to cut about two-thirds of its international work force and close at least four of its offices outside the United States. [ID:nBNG543813]
Shares rose 1 percent to $9.14.
HALOZYME THERAPEUTICS (HALO.O)
