UPDATE 1-Chile Enersis Q3 profit up 43 percent

SANTIAGO, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Chile-based regional energy group Enersis ENE.SN ENI.SN reported third-quarter net profit rose 43 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.

Enersis on Wednesday announced earnings of 173.869 billion pesos ($318 million) for the July-September period, compared with 121.63 billion pesos for the same period in 2008.

Enersis, the Latin American investment arm of Spanish energy group Endesa (ELE.MC), reported profit of 534.775 billion pesos for the January-September period, up 45 percent from a year earlier.
