Brazil's Embraer delivers 56 planes in 2nd quarter

SAO PAULO, July 7 (Reuters) - Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer (EMBR3.SA)(ERJ.N) said on Tuesday it delivered 56 planes in the second quarter, bringing the total for the first six months of the year to 96.

The company said in a statement it delivered 35 commercial planes, 19 executive jets and two defense aircraft in the quarter.

In the second quarter of 2008, it delivered 52 planes. At that time, deliveries of its new Phenom 100 business jet had not begun. (Reporting by Guillermo Parra-Bernal, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
