SEOUL, Aug 21 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Friday prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

The South Korean government announced Thursday restrictions on prescriptions for H1N1 influenza vaccines, limiting them to high-risk women, children and elderly and to one dosage per person.

At a government meeting held on Thursday, officials agreed to an amendment that would exempt small businesses that closed down since 2005 from up to 5 million won ($4,018) in taxes if they restarted.

Regulations on family succession of small and middle sized businesses will be slackened to make business continuation easier, according to government reports on Thursday.

The finance ministry disclosed on Thursday tax concessions that will decrease tax revenues by up to 33.9 trillion won ($27.24 billion) by 2012.

An industry source said Wednesday major steel firms including Hyundai Steel (004020.KS) and Dongguk Steel (001230.KS) were looking to raise prices due to international cost rises and raw material price hikes.

The head of the Korea Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that Korean pharmaceutical firms had received permission to import the main ingredient for the vaccine Tamiflu from an Indian medical supplier to reproduce the drug.
