Australia's Asciano lifts size of equity raising

SYDNEY, June 17 (Reuters) - Australian rail and ports operator Asciano Ltd (AIO.AX) has increased the total size of its capital raising to A$2.35 billion ($1.85 billion), the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Asciano said it has received a total commitment of A$1.92 billion from institutional investors.

On Monday, Asciano launched a A$2.0 billion capital raising to repay debts, rejecting takeover offers from private equity firms. [ID:nSYD422113].
