Nikkei rises as trading firms gain; Toshiba up

TOKYO, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average rose 0.9 percent on Tuesday, buoyed by a broad range of shares after Wall Street climbed, with Mitsubishi Corp (8058.T) and other trading firms up on higher commodities prices. Toshiba Corp (6502.T) rose more than 2 percent after it made an offer for French nuclear reactor builder Areva's (CEPFi.PA) power transmission and distribution business in a consortium with investment fund Innovation Network Corp of Japan. The benchmark Nikkei .N225 gained 88.84 points to 9,897.83, while the broader Topix rose 0.7 percent to 876.65. (Reporting by Elaine Lies)
