(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan reported up to 2:30 a.m. EDT on Saturday.

* KHOST - A remotely detonated bomb near a market in the southeastern town of Khost killed two civilians and wounded 16 on Saturday, said police office Mohammad Yakoub. The target of the blast was a group of government militiamen in a convoy, he said.
* ZABUL - A suicide car bomber blew himself up outside an Afghan army base in the southern province of Zabul on Friday, killing three civilians and wounding four soldiers, the deputy provincial governor said.
FARAH - Afghan army commandos and U.S.-led soldiers killed four militants when they came under fire during a raid on a compound in the western province of Farah during a search for a Taliban commander on Friday, the U.S. military said.
HELMAND - Afghan and U.S.-led soldiers killed 10 militants after coming under fire while on patrol in the southern province of Helmand on Thursday, the U.S. military said. One Afghan soldier was wounded.
