FACTBOX: Nokia's forecasts for fourth quarter
(Reuters) - The world's top cell phone maker Nokia Oyj said the following about the global market and outlook for the company:
FINANCIAL TARGETS
-- Nokia Devices & Services unit underlying operating margin of 13-19 percent
-- Navteq unit 2009 operating margin somewhat higher than Devices and Services unit
-- Nokia Siemens Networks operating margin in the single digits in 2009
-- Internet services business net sales of 2 billion euros ($2.52 billion) or more in 2011, to have 300 million unique services users by 2012
HANDSETS
-- Fourth quarter industry mobile device volumes will be lower than the previous estimate of 330 million phones
-- Could not confirm estimate for fourth quarter market share of 38 percent or slightly higher due to insufficient visibility
-- Expects 2009 industry mobile phones volumes to decline 5 percent or more from 2008 levels
-- Targets an increase in its market share in mobile phones in 2009 compared to 2008, including increased share in smartphones, where it has lost share this year
-- Sees distributors destocking in the first half of 2009.
NETWORK EQUIPMENT
-- Continues to expect the mobile infrastructure, fixed infrastructure and related services market to be flat in euro terms in 2008, compared to 2007
-- Preliminary estimate is the mobile infrastructure, fixed infrastructure and related services market will decline 5 percent or more in euro terms in 2009 from this year
-- Nokia Siemens Networks continues to target to reach 'substantially all' of the 2 billion euro annual cost synergies by the end of 2008
