Senate to vote as early as Thursday on TARP
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate is expected to vote as early as Thursday on a resolution of disapproval on the final $350 billion tranche of the financial industry bailout, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Monday.
President George W. Bush agreed to make the request for the money on behalf of President-elect Barack Obama and Congress has 15 days to consider the resolution under the original $700 billion rescue plan adopted last year.
