LONDON (Reuters) - Asia-focussed bank Standard Chartered (STAN.L) (2888.HK) named John Peace as its permanent chairman, the bank said on Thursday, prompting him to step down as chairman of financial data company Experian (EXPN.L).

Peace, 60, has been acting chairman at Standard Chartered since January, when Mervyn King stepped down at short notice to become a Treasury minister.

He will quit as chairman of Experian once a new chairman is appointed, and remain chairman of Burberry Group (BRBY.L).
