JOHANNESBURG, Oct 15 (Reuters) - The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said on Thursday it had agreed an 11.5 percent pay rise with Northam Platinum (NHMJ.J) and the one-year deal was due to be signed later that day.

NUM said the wage rise would be for a period of one year with effect from July this year.

The union said it had agreed with Northam to raise the night shift and afternoon allowances for its members by 1 percent to 10 percent and 6 percent, respectively.

"We believe that we have scored a reasonable increment for our members," NUM said in a statement. (Reporting by Shapi Shacinda)
