Keryx says Sulonex Phase 3 trial failed

LOS ANGELES, March 7 (Reuters) - Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc (KERX.O) said on Friday that a Phase 3 clinical trial for Sulonex, a drug designed to treat diabetic neuropathy, has failed to meet the study's primary objectives.

The company said it plans to re-focus its primary efforts and resources on rapidly moving renal disease drug Zerenex and cancer drug Perifosine forward. (Reporting by Gina Keating; editing by Carol Bishopric)
