MDS files claim against Canada and AECL

TORONTO (Reuters) - MDS Inc said on Wednesday it has filed a C$1.6 billion court claim against Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd and the government of Canada for breach of contract.

MDS said the claim follows the May decision by Canada and AECL to scrap a nuclear reactor project designed to produce medical radioisotopes without giving it prior notice or consultation.
