MBIA closes $1.1 billion share offer

NEW YORK (Reuters) - MBIA Inc (MBI.N) said on Wednesday it closed the sale of $1.1 billion of shares, or $100,000 more than previously announced, after underwriters exercised their right to sell more shares.

MBIA said it sold 236.2 million shares at $12.15 apiece.
