Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:24am EDT

Aug 22 (Reuters) - Biopharmaceutical company Hana Biosciences HNAB.O said U.S. health regulators granted fast-track designation to its anti-cancer drug, Marqibo.

The company said Marqibo received the status for the treatment of adults with Philadelphia chromosome negative acute lymphoblastic leukemia in second relapse, or for those who have failed two lines of prior therapy. Marqibo was also granted orphan drug designation by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia earlier this year, Hana added.
