ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI LIMITED

APPLICATION FOR LISTING OF CONSIDERATION SHARES

Application has been made for admission to the Official List of the London
Stock Exchange of 137,321 and 7,624,162 ordinary shares of ZAR0.25 in the
Company (which has a secondary listing in London and its primary listing in
Johannesburg) which have been issued and allotted by the company. The 137,321
and 7,624,162 ordinary shares in the Company were issued pursuant to the Share
Incentive Scheme and under an Equity Offering respectively.

It is expected that such admission will become effective and that dealings in
those shares will commence in London on 10 November 2009.
