Alfred Interwest Insurance Adds PEMCO to Its Offerings

Mon Apr 28, 2008 8:12pm EDT
PORT ORCHARD, Wash., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Independent insurance agency
Alfred Interwest Insurance has teamed up with Seattle-based PEMCO Insurance, a
59-year-old company known for its top-rated customer service.
Alfred Interwest Insurance, located at 1014 Bay St., Suite 10, in Port
Orchard, added PEMCO to the line of companies it represents this month. The
agency has been serving Kitsap County and surrounding areas since 1980.
"PEMCO and Alfred Interwest Insurance are a great fit," said Kim Punt,
owner of Alfred Interwest Insurance. "PEMCO is the Northwest, and it's
important to us that the companies we work with understand and care about the
people here."
Punt also appreciates the commitment that both companies share in being
there for customers. "When you have a need and call either of us, you won't
get voice mail -- you get a real person who will come through for you," she
said.
Like Alfred Interwest Insurance, PEMCO counts superb customer service
among its hallmarks. In the past four "Best Brands" surveys conducted by GMA
Research, consumers named PEMCO the best insurance company overall (tying for
first in 2005). The surveys were conducted independently in 2002, 2003, 2005,
and 2007.
Besides offering family coverage with home, auto, watercraft, RV, and life
insurance, Alfred Interwest Insurance also provides commercial insurance,
particularly for small business and contractors. No matter which type of
insurance customers want, education is part of the deal.
"Whether people ultimately buy from us or not, we feel good knowing we've
taken the time to talk about real needs and what's right for the
customer -- not just finding the cheapest price," Punt added. An Alfred
Interwest agent visits every home the company insures and, as a result of this
extra service, it frequently receives referrals from local real estate agents
and bankers.
Three agents join Punt in serving customers Monday through Friday from
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and evenings or weekends by appointment. They share a
commitment to giving back to the communities in which they live, work, and
play, including support of the South Kitsap Helpline and work with Soroptimist
International of Port Orchard and the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce.
They're also members of the Professional Insurance Agents of Washington,
Kitsap Insurance Professionals, and Society of Certified Insurance Counselors
and Insurance Service Representatives.
PEMCO Insurance, established in 1949, insures more than half a million
Washington residents with personal lines of auto, home, boat, life, and
umbrella coverage. For more information, go to http://www.pemco.com. To learn
