Albuquerque Operations Attains Elite Level in Maintenance
Technician Program
BELLEVILLE, Mich.--(Business Wire)--
Active Aero Group's USA Jet Airlines operations in Albuquerque,
NM, has received the Diamond Award from the FAA Aviation Maintenance
Technician Program, the highest award presented in the program. USA
Jet's client in ABQ is the National Nuclear Security Agency's Office
of Secure Transportation, a division of the Department of Energy.
Active Aero Group, a privately held company based in Belleville,
MI, provides global specialized freight transportation solutions for
customers through its subsidiaries: USA Jet Airlines, a Part 121
certificated, air cargo and passenger airline that operates a fleet of

According to the FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician Program
manual, the purpose of the program is to provide incentives for
maintenance technicians to actively participate in initial and
recurring training programs on their own initiative or in training
programs subsidized by their employer.
There are five levels of awards: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby, and
Diamond. To qualify, USA Jet maintenance technicians in ABQ were
required to attend a minimum of two hours of training on FAA
regulations and policy in addition to satisfactory completion of
listed items for the level desired. In order to achieve the most elite
Diamond Award, all 18 of USA Jet ABQ maintenance technicians
participated in the following training:

-- Complete a college-level course of 3-credit hours or 40 classroom
hours in mathematics, English, science, safety, human factors,
management subjects, or similar career-related maintenance courses;
and one of the following:
-- A 10-day industry aviation maintenance course
-- 58 hours of aviation industry maintenance training
-- Teach at least 15 hours of aviation industry maintenance
training.
