Black Hills Corp. Hires Investor Relations Director

RAPID CITY, S.D., July 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Black Hills Corp.
(NYSE: BKH) today announced the appointment of Jason Ketchum as director of
investor relations.
    Before coming to Black Hills, Ketchum was Aquila Inc.'s manager of
investor relations, and during his six years at Aquila, he held various
positions within the energy marketing and corporate divisions including senior
manager of e-business, weather risk management business development manager
and senior issues strategist analyst in the office of the chief executive
officer. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of
Missouri and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Phoenix.
    In his investor relations role at Black Hills Corp., Ketchum will be
responsible for interactions with market analysts, investors and other
financial stakeholders. He will begin his new role at the close of Black
Hills' acquisition of Aquila's natural gas and electric utility properties in
Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. He will report to Lynn Wilson, senior
vice president of communications and investor relations, who will also assume
her new role at the close of the Aquila transaction.
David R. Emery, chairman, president and chief executive officer for Black
Hills Corp., said that Ketchum fills an important role within the company as
the primary interface with shareholders and the financial community. "We

contributions as we continue to execute our strategic plan and grow our

controller, who has managed the investor relations responsibilities since the
former director resigned."
