Frost and Sullivan Report Says Trusteer Addresses the Need to
Protect Information from the Keystroke to its Endpoint
NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
Trusteer, the customer protection company for online businesses,
today announced that Frost & Sullivan, a leading technology research
firm, released a Market Insight report that praises Trusteer's new
approach for protecting private information on the Web from viruses
and malware. Frost & Sullivan says that Trusteer's Rapport product
creates an untapped market category that secures online transactions
and information from the end user's computer to the target website,
always assuming that the computer is infected with active malware
scripts and applications.
The report entitled, "Trusteer: Rethinking the Battle Plan," dated
June 17, 2008, is available at:

According to the report, the Trusteer solution opens a new market
segment that addresses the need to protect information from keystroke,
through a secure connection, to the endpoint. This market is untapped
and Trusteer has a major advantage in their approach to a threat that
is top of mind with many executives. Frost & Sullivan sees this new
approach as a break through in securing information from the key
stroke to the SSL connection.
"With anti-virus/anti-malware solutions under increasing fire from
thousands of new attacks per day, our vision was to fill the gap so
that end users are continually protected from attempts to steal their
credentials and private information even if the computer is already
infected," said Mickey Boodaei, CEO of Trusteer. "A new market occurs
when there is an unmet need, and Frost & Sullivan's validation that
Rapport directly addresses a void in the web transaction security
stack is extremely valuable to us."
About Rapport
Regardless of whether a user's PC is already infected, Rapport
creates a "secure pipe" from the keypad to the online application.
Rapport protects the customer's online session by:
1. Blocking operating-system-level application programming
interface (API) calls by malware that can send session information out
to unknown, unauthorized destinations via the Internet. This unique
capability also prevents malware from tampering with the communication
in order to alter transactions.
2. Encrypting customer keystrokes at the keyboard driver level and
keeping the data encrypted until it is being transmitted to the
website over SSL.
3. Validating the bank's Web site by ensuring the customer is
interacting with the correct IP address and SSL certificate, and
preventing the user from entering sensitive credentials into
unauthorized websites.
