Nalco Joins the United Nations Global Compact

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Oct. 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nalco (NYSE:NLC), providing

joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate
citizenship and social responsibility organization.

Created in 2000 as part of the United Nation's efforts to spur support of its
Millennium Development Goals, the United Nations Global Compact requires an
organization's commitment to ten universally accepted principles in the areas of
human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. More than 5,000 companies
have joined the United Nation's Global Compact.
