LONDON--(Business Wire)--
In yet more proof that personal cards pay, customers at US-based
Zions First National Bank who have switched from standard to
customized cards in the past two months have been making, on average,
15%-20% more transactions since their new card arrived. Zions Bank,
which launched its 'myPHOTOcard' card customization program on 27 May
of this year (to see the program for yourself, visit
www.zionsbank.com/myphotocard) is using technology provided by card
customization specialist, Serverside Group.
Take up numbers are good, too. Since the end of May, Zions Bank, a
subsidiary of Zions Bancorporation, has seen steady growth in the
number of myPHOTOcards created by existing cardholders. The popular
new service, also being marketed in Spanish, is available to both
individual customers and business clients. To date, approximately 88%
of the photo cards issued have been debit cards, the rest credit
cards.
The strong take-up of the photocards has been helped by the
strength of the Zions Bank marketing campaign, which has comprised
humorous TV spots, online banner advertising, traditional print ads
and general merchandising. Cardholders can either upload an image of
their own or choose one from a selection of galleries, including
'Animals', 'Art', 'Nature' and 'Sports'.
Zions Bank customers, who must also be Internet Banking customers,
can use the myPHOTOcard service for free on their first personalized
debit or credit card. Couples who share credit cards or joint accounts
may each upload a different photo to personalize their individual
cards. To change images and create subsequent cards through
myPHOTOcard, clients will be charged a small fee of $4.95.
Rob Brough, Executive Vice President of Marketing &
Communications, Zions First National Bank, commented:
"We have been pleased by the response to myPHOTOcard since its
launch. With more people using their cards as an everyday tool to make
purchases and manage their personal finances, it makes sense that
consumers want a favorite photo to see whenever they pull their card
from their wallet."
Adam Elgar, President, Serverside Group, added:
"The encouraging lift in transaction levels we're seeing at Zions
Bank is consistent with the results many of our other clients have
experienced. It happens for the simple reason that photocards sit
front-of-wallet. Basically, people love to see a favorite image each
time they make a purchase or open their wallet so they put the
personal card on top. As a result, they use it more. The take-up
numbers are strong, too, and reflect the strength and pizzazz of the
Zions marketing campaign."
