Los Angeles County Chooses Sierra Systems to Develop Requirements for New Electronic Property Tax System

Tue Nov 3, 2009 9:01am EST
VANCOUVER--(Business Wire)--
Sierra Systems Group Inc., a leading information technology and consulting
services company, has been chosen by the County of Los Angeles, California to
develop the system requirements and request for proposal for a new property tax
system, called eTax, that will increase accuracy and efficiency in managing and
collecting property taxes.

Sierra Systems will conduct an analysis of the County's current property tax
system and business processes, and working closely with the Auditor-Controller,
Treasurer and Tax collector, and Assessment Appeals Board, will develop the
desired business process and functional requirements for the eTax system. Upon
completion of this analysis, Sierra Systems will develop a logical system
architecture and implementation plan which will serve as the basis for the
implementation of eTax. The project will conclude with the creation of the
request for proposal and evaluation criteria that will be released by the County
to solicit bids for the eTax implementation.

"At Sierra Systems we take pride in lending our expertise to help counties such
as Los Angeles update and enhance their property tax systems," said Curt
Hensler, Technology Director, Sierra Systems. "We look forward to developing a
roadmap that will put the County of Los Angeles well on its way to implementing
a comprehensive and automated system."

This is Sierra Systems` third project of this kind, having provided similar
deliverables for both Orange County and Riverside County, California. Sierra
Systems has developed a practical methodology for analyzing business operations
to identify the appropriate business processes and functional requirements to
meet the stakeholders` needs. With this knowledge, organizations can implement
the appropriate software applications necessary to provide better automation in
addition to consistent and accurate processing of critical information.
