DOVER, N.H., Dec. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ohio Congressman and
Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich will be in New Hampshire all
the way through to Primary Day on January 8, 2008, meeting with residents and
talking about the issues that matter: health care costs and availability,
ending the war in Iraq, and developing alternative energy sources to protect
America's future.
Kucinich arrived in Manchester, NH, yesterday afternoon after spending
Christmas with his family and mourning the recent passing of his brother
Perry.
"In many ways, the past week has been a sad and bittersweet time for me and my
wife Elizabeth," said Kucinich. "Now is the time to charge ahead, however, and
I've instructed my staff that we're ready to return to full speed."
In the next few days Kucinich will be busy as ever in New Hampshire --
visiting with the Keene Sentinel editorial board, campaigning in Peterborough
and Concord, attending house parties, joining canvassing teams, and conducting
interviews with the media.
And on New Year's Eve Kucinich and his wife Elizabeth will be hosting a
special party and concert at the MCAM TV-23 Studios in Manchester, New
Hampshire. The event -- "Resolution for Peace: A New Year's Concert for the
Community" -- will be televised 'live' on TV-23 and on the Kucinich for
President 2008 website, www.dennis4president.com.
The "Resolution for Peace" party and concert will also focus attention on the
plight of the homeless in the area. Liberty House, a transitional shelter for
homeless veterans located in Manchester, has received word that its threatened
federal funding will be delivered next year after all, and area veterans are
planning a public "thank you" to Kucinich for bringing national attention to
their plight.
"New Hampshire is home to the first primary voters in the country, and I plan
on making sure that the residents of the Granite State know that I'm intent on
leading our great country and working together with all Americans to ensure a
strong and purposeful future," said Kucinich.
With primary voting less than two weeks away, the Kucinich campaign is
enjoying growing national momentum as the Ohio Congressman wins one important
grassroots poll after another. Last week, of the more than 80,000 votes cast
for Democratic candidates at http://www.independentprimary.com by
self-described independent voters, Kucinich received more than three times the
votes of all the other candidates' totals combined. And in an online poll
sponsored by the Democratic party of Virginia over the last three days,
Kucinich again topped the rest of the pack.
