NEON Enterprise Software helps iTech-Ed Launch Forum for IMS
Discussions
SUGAR LAND, Texas--(Business Wire)--NEON Enterprise Software, Inc., the technology leader in
enterprise data management software and services, was the guest
speaker at the inaugural meeting of the Virtual IMS Connection
(www.virtualims.com), an independently operated, vendor-neutral site
run by and for the IMS user community.
IMS (IBM's Information Management System) is in use at an
estimated 95 percent of Fortune 1000 organizations, however, there are
very few public forums available for IMS professionals. iTech-Ed, a
mainframe consultancy company, developed the Virtual IMS Connection to
help fill this gap.
"Virtual IMS Connection was created as a place for IMS
professionals to share information and ideas and find resources," said
Trevor Eddolls, CEO of iTech-Ed. "Enabling an exchange of information
is our goal, and to that end, we're planning regular Webinars on
IMS-related topics as well as an educational e-newsletter, which is
expected to launch in January 2008."
The site includes a forum where IMS experts can share their
experiences and useful hints and tips, and post questions to their
peers about any aspect of IMS. Virtual IMS Connection also has pages
with links to IMS-related news, articles, events, and a job bank for
posting resumes and open positions.
The Virtual IMS Connection Web site launched in Q4 2007 and the
inaugural meeting was lead by Kristine Harper, an associate developer
with NEON Enterprise Software. NEON will continue to support the
organization by offering regular speakers and by participating on the
steering committee.
"We are glad to see iTech-Ed provide this forum. IMS is still a
critical component of large computing environments. It's important to
have a forum where experienced IMS professionals can share information
with their peers," said Don Pate, chief executive officer, NEON
Enterprise Software.
Anyone with an interest in IMS is welcome to join Virtual IMS
Connection, participate in a steering committee, present a technical
paper or share in the knowledge exchange. The user group is free to
join and use. A second meeting is scheduled to take place on February
5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. CST where Bill Keene, product author with NEON,
will lead a discussion on IMS Disaster Recovery Preparation. Visit
