Mushroom Networks, Inc. Unveils T1 Replacement Technology for Internet Service Providers and Their Business Class Customers
New Service Delivers Cost-Effective Bi-Directional Broadband for
Both VoIP and Data
SAN DIEGO--(Business Wire)--
Mushroom Networks, Inc., the innovator of one-sided broadband
bonding technology, today announced Broadband Bonding Service, a
hosted service offering better than T1 speeds both in the uplink and
downlink directions with monthly cost savings up to 70% compared to a
traditional T1 service. The service consists of a customer premise
equipment (CPE) unit housing up to six broadband connections installed
at the subscriber's site. All broadband connections are then bonded
together forming a single high-speed Internet connection. Mushroom
Networks' new service targets business class customers but can also be
hosted by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) providing the market with
the T1 replacement technology.
Mushroom Networks' Broadband Bonding Service is compatible with
any broadband technology or Internet Service Provider allowing
business customers to mix and match providers of their choosing and
scale bandwidth based on immediate needs. For example: bond three DSL
lines with one cable modem line - as the business grows and needs
increase, add two more DSL lines at minimal costs. In addition, all
traffic protocols are supported, including VPN, file transfers, VoIP
or any other Internet traffic. Broadband Bonding Service enables
businesses to migrate to VoIP based voice solutions by providing a
cost effective bonded IP connection.
"Traditional T1 services are expensive to deploy, maintain and
operate resulting in high prices for customers, not to mention archaic
in terms of speed and performance compared with alternatives such as
DSL or cable modem. Many service providers are actively looking to
phase out their legacy T1 offerings," stated Dr. Cahit Akin,
co-founder and CEO of Mushroom Networks. "By merging multiple
inexpensive broadband connections together, our new service surpasses
T1 by providing extremely fast broadband both in the downlink and
uplink directions, supporting business critical applications such as
reliable IP voice communications, and enabling accelerated VPN access
for telecommuters and other off-site customers."
The Broadband Bonding Service supports Mushroom Networks' full
product line including: Truffle targeting the large enterprise,
Porcini for small to medium businesses, and PortaBella - an all new
wireless solution that bonds multiple cellular data cards into a
single shared connection. All products support a built-in VoIP quality
manager to improve voice quality by minimizing latency for both
inbound and outbound voice traffic. Mushroom's products also
incorporate an internal router and stateful firewall capability that
can be enabled by the user as needed along with support for standard
Internet services such as port-forwarding, port binding, WAN interface
binding, static IP, dynamic IP, PPPoE, DHCP, DMZ, UPnP, and Dynamic
DNS.

Mushroom Networks' Broadband Bonding Service is available now for
