Section Providing Region's Best Auto Coverage Increases Daily
Sections, Complements Online And Weekend Products
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
The Sun-Times News Group announced today the expansion of its
SearchChicago-Autos section from every Thursday to Monday through
Friday for all of the group's eight daily circulation newspapers.
SearchChicago-Autos, which is Chicago's premier auto section, will
continue on Thursday throughout the group's 51 weekly paid-circulation
newspaper titles, complementing its growing online counterpart,
www.SearchChicago.com/autos, and the weekend print auto section.
These products combined allow for manufacturers and dealers to
reach the Sun-Times News Group's 4.2 million print and online readers
each week.
SearchChicago-Autos, which has a paid circulation of more than
700,000 on Thursday and more than 500,000 on other weekdays, was first
launched in February to replace existing auto sections. The new
section features respected local auto columnists Jill Ciminillo, Ira
Siegel, John Stein and Jeff Taylor, an auto Q&A and a check of some of
the cheapest gas prices in the Chicago area.
"SearchChicago-Autos continues to be the Chicago area's best
source of auto coverage and listings. Our intent has been to build the
strongest and most valued marketplace in the Chicago area for auto
manufacturers, dealers and buyers in print and on the Internet," said
Cyrus F. Freidheim, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Sun-Times Media
Group, parent of the Sun-Times News Group. "The expansion of
SearchChicago-Autos to Monday through Friday coupled with our
Sun-Times weekend Auto Times and our online auto listings at
SearchChicago.com/autos, creates that marketplace."
The Sun-Times News Group's newspapers include the Chicago
Sun-Times; The Beacon News (Aurora), The Herald News (Joliet), Lake
County News-Sun, The Courier News (Elgin), SouthtownStar, The
Naperville Sun, and 51 Pioneer Press titles.
