Land of Smiles to Release Guidebook Showcasing Medical Services
LOS ANGELES--(Business Wire)--
Healthy Travel Media (HTM) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announce
today's release of Patients Beyond Borders: Thailand Edition, in English for
worldwide distribution.

Produced in collaboration with TAT, the 244-page guidebook features 32 pages of
color and offers an in-depth overview of Thailand`s international hospitals,
selected health travel agents, nearby recovery and guest accommodations, spas,
and area travel information.

"Thailand is at the world forefront of new approaches to medical care,
healthcare technology, and preventive and continuing care, often ahead of its
Western counterparts," says Josef Woodman, CEO of HTM. "Medical travelers will
find Thailand a unique destination for quality, savings, and comfort."

Thailand was one of the earliest international medical tourism hubs, first for
cosmetic surgery, and in the past decade as a leading destination for patients
seeking healthcare abroad. Last year, Thailand welcomed 1.2 million patients
from more than 190 countries for a wide variety of medical procedures. Costs are
typically 30-80% lower than in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

"The combination of first-class medical facilities, five-star hotels and
serviced apartments, spas, wellness clinics, and myriad tourist attractions has
contributed to Thailand`s popularity," says Juthaporn Rerngronasa, TAT`s Deputy
Governor for International Marketing. "We are pleased that our partnership with
Patients Beyond Borders will further advance awareness of Thailand as an
important destination for medical tourism."

Patients Beyond Borders: Thailand Edition will be available at bookstores and
online retail channels worldwide, and the eBook through Kindle, Sony Reader,
ebrary, and Lulu. Interested booksellers should contact Publishers Group West,
www.pgw.com.
