Apollo Gold Announces 2nd Quarter 2008 Financial and Operating Results Release Date and Conference Call

Apollo Gold Corporation (the "Company") (TSX:APG) (AMEX:AGT) will
be announcing the second quarter 2008 financial and operating results
on Thursday, August 14, 2008. The Company's management will host the
quarterly earnings conference call on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 9:00
AM MST (8:00 AM PST and 11:00 AM EST). The 2008 second quarter 10-Q
and press release earnings report will be available on the Company
website at www.apollogold.com.
