Leading Magazine Subscription Provider ValueMags to Offer Customer Reviews

Mon Apr 14, 2008 11:06am EDT
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
ValueMags, a leading discount magazine subscription web site, has
announced that it will now offer customer reviews of the magazines
sold at its site.

Hundreds of thousands of customers have purchased magazines online
at ValueMags since the site's inception in 1999. Now, for the first
time, these customers -- and all magazine readers -- will be able to
share their opinions about the titles for sale on its site. ValueMags
has chosen to work with Power Reviews, the enterprise solutions
company, to manage, moderate and present customer reviews.

"We value our customers' opinions and we hope the ability to share
feedback about the content in a magazine will help them make informed
decisions," says Andrew Degenholtz, president of ValueMags.

There are currently 1,199 magazine subscriptions for sale on the
valuemags.com site in 31 categories. Since many of the titles are
similar, online reviews will guide customers to make the best choices.

According to Degenholtz, ValueMags was an early adopter of
supporting customers' ability to take control of their magazine
subscription experience. In 2000, the company launched the MagsManager
tracking system to allow customers to keep track of all of their
renewal dates in one place. The MagsManager system is free and works
like a stock portfolio tracker. Customers can keep track of magazines
they have ordered from the company and also enter subscriptions they
have purchased elsewhere, and the MagsManager shows them when it's
time to renew so that they never miss an issue.

"This next step of adding customer reviews and user generated
content to our product pages continues this belief that the customer
should have a voice in their magazine experience," notes Degenholtz.
