ERS Data Solutions Group Once Again Provides Voice and Data Communication Support During ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

Fri Nov 6, 2009 9:16am EST
INDIANAPOLIS--(Business Wire)--
For the second time in 2009, ERS Data Solutions Group, a division of Emergency
Radio Service, Inc., has provided vital voice and data communications in support
of a home builder during the filming of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition".
Working with Hallmark Homes, Inc. of Anderson, Indiana, ERS Data Solutions Group
is once again giving back to the community through this event.

Motorola's MotoTRBO, Professional Digital Two-way Radio System, was deployed to
provide additional voice support to the home builder. This greatly aided the
logistical issues of operating in 2 areas that were separated by many miles -
the rural build site and pre-staging at Grissom AFB. Additionally, the voice
deployment was approached as a replacement to cellular voice as there was
minimal cellular voice service in this rural area.

Motorola's MotoMESH Duo provided a robust coverage area of wireless data, where
none had previously existed. Bandwidth supplied from a local Wireless Internet
Service Provider, the wireless data infrastructure allowed yet another alternate
form of communications, creating access to valuable information during the
build, and the news media's ability to publish live from the location.

All applications of these technologies led to a simple result, ensuring
efficiency of the home builder's communication's means, and by doing so,
maximizing their ability to meet the 106 hour deadline the show enforces on
them. As a part of the production support, it was also necessary that these
systems be rapidly deployable, and most of all be extremely reliable.

This episode took place in a rural area of north central Indiana, near the town
of Bunker Hill. In March of 2009, ERS Data Solutions Group provided similar
support to a production of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" that was located in
a downtown neighborhood of Indianapolis. In that episode, which was the Season 6
finale, ERS Data Solutions Group and Motorola donated a larger MotoMESH Duo
system to the community so that the local school children in that underserved
area could have free Internet access.

ERS Data Solutions Group (ERS DSG) is a Motorola Authorized Channel Partner for
Wireless Broadband and Enterprise Mobility. With expertise in technologies such
as Mesh, Point-to-Multipoint and Point-to-Point broadband, ERS DSG is also
leading the way in indoor WLAN, WWAN, VoWLAN and mobile computing solutions. A
Division of Emergency Radio Service, Inc., ERS DSG is part of a 60+ year
heritage with Motorola in almost every avenue of wireless technology. Customer
focused and quality driven, ERS DSG offers the total customer experience of
sales, engineering, training, support and maintenance.
