Health Alliance Plan's Medicare HMO is Top-Ranked Medicare Plan in Michigan
and Top 25 in U.S.
According to U.S. News/NCQA America's Best Health Plans 2008-09
DETROIT, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Health Alliance Plan's Medicare
HMO is the top-ranked Medicare HMO plan in Michigan, according to the list of
America's Best Health Plans in the November 17-24 issue of U.S. News & World
Report.
The America's Best Health Plans list was created by the U.S. News Media Group,
in collaboration with the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
HAP's Medicare HMO, HAP Senior Plus, was ranked 24 among 216 Medicare health
plans nationwide in customer service, preventive services and treating
illness. Areas of strong performance include getting needed care quickly, high
rating of care received, cancer screenings, diabetes care, monitoring kidney
disease, mental and behavioral health, staying on beta blockers after a heart
attack, and medication management to avoid drug interactions and
complications. In these areas, HAP received overall scores of at least four
out of five stars.
