Report: IBM Continues as Storage Software Market Leader for Q3 2007

  ARMONK, NY, Dec 10 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
 IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that a new IDC report [1] indicates the
company continued in Q3'07 as the storage software market leader [2].  This
marks
the eleventh consecutive quarter that IBM Storage Software revenue outpaced
the storage software market according to IDC.

    As measured by the Q3'07 IDC Worldwide Quarterly Storage Software Tracker,
IBM
grew storage software revenues 16.5 percent year-over-year, reflecting in 12.4
percent of the total storage software market.  Of the top three storage
software market share leaders in Q3'07, IBM had the greatest revenue growth,
according to the report.

    According to the same report, IBM achieved year-over-year revenue growth
inkey storage software segments including Storage Replication (+17.6 percent
year-over-year), Storage Management (+15.4 percent year-over-year), File
System (+14.6 percent year-over-year), Archive & HSM (+11.1 percent
year-over-year), Storage Infrastructure (+12.8 percent year-over-year),
andStorage Device Management (+15.5 percent year-over-year).

    Storage Momentum for IBM

    Last week, the Q3'07 Worldwide Disk Storage Tracker was announced by IDC,
which shows IBM achieved year-over-year quarterly growth [3] and
additionally, in September 2007, IBM announced it was the number one
vendorfor all tape storage solutions -- nearly four years running -- based on an
IDC report [4].
