AFS Platform Delivers True SPICE Accurate Verification for Programmable RF
Transceivers
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Berkeley Design Automation Inc., provider of the Analog FastSPICE unified
circuit verification platform for advanced analog and RF integrated circuits
(ICs), today announced that BitWave Semiconductor, Inc., a fabless semiconductor
company and innovator of programmable radio frequency integrated circuits, has
deployed the complete Analog FastSPICE Platform. This includes the Analog
FastSPICE circuit simulator (AFS), the AFS Nano SPICE simulator, AFS
Co-Simulation, and the Noise Analysis Option device noise analyzer.

"At BitWave we have been using Analog FastSPICE for full-circuit verification of
our programmable CMOS RF transceiver products," said Geoff Dawe, CTO at BitWave.
"We have now deployed the complete Analog FastSPICE Platform because it
significantly increases the efficiency of our design teams. The AFS Platform
delivers true SPICE accurate block-level characterization, complex-block, and
full-circuit verification, and device noise analysis for our leading-edge
Softransceiver platforms."

Analog FastSPICE is the industry's only unified circuit verification platform
for analog, mixed-signal, and RF design. Always delivering true SPICE accurate
results, it provides 5x-20x higher performance than traditional SPICE, >10
million-element capacity, and the industry's only comprehensive noise analysis.
The AFS Platform is a single executable that uses advanced algorithms and
numerical analysis to rapidly solve the full-circuit matrix and original device
equations without any shortcuts. AFS Platform tools include: AFS Nano SPICE
simulator, Analog FastSPICE circuit simulator, Noise Analysis Option device
noise analyzer, and RF FastSPICE multi-tone periodic analyzer.

"We are delighted with the BitWave Semiconductor deployment of the Analog
FastSPICE Platform across their Softransceiver RFIC verification flow," said
Ravi Subramanian, president and CEO of Berkeley Design Automation. "Delivering
high-performance, low-power programmable RF transceivers for multi-mode,
multi-band wireless devices targeting the smartphone and wireless data card
markets is a tremendous challenge. BitWave's broad adoption of the AFS Platform
reinforces the fact that today`s leading wireless platform suppliers select
Berkeley Design Automation as an essential partner to in the design of their
analog and RF semiconductor products."

Plot exposes fissure in U.S. intelligence community

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Last week's failed plot to bomb a U.S. passenger jet has exposed lingering fissures within the U.S. intelligence community, which had information from interviews and clandestine intercepts but did not put the pieces together, officials said.
