Best Buy Invites Nonprofits Helping Young Teens to Apply for a Local Giving Grant

Employee-led grant making program accepting applications through
                             June 15, 2008
MINNEAPOLIS--(Business Wire)--
Nonprofit organizations focused on helping young teens across the
United States are invited now through June 15, 2008, to apply for a
2008 Local Giving grant from Best Buy.

   The Best Buy Local Giving Program is a grant-making program led by
employee committees in each of the company's eight territories across
the United States. Best Buy believes its employees are best able to
build and maintain lasting community partnerships and should be
empowered to help direct funding to nonprofit organizations in their
communities through Local Giving grants.

   The following organizations may apply:

   --  Nonprofit 501(c)(3) certified organizations that provide
        positive experiences that will empower early adolescents
        (primarily ages 12-16) to excel in school, engage in their
        communities, and develop leadership skills; and

   --  Located within 50 miles of Best Buy stores

   Full criteria for qualified organizations and programs, as well as
the online application, can be found at www.BestBuy.com/LocalGiving.

   Nonprofits must submit their complete proposals online May 15 -
June 15, 2008. Best Buy store leaders will then review the
applications and make recommendations for funding based on the
relationship between the store and the nonprofit. The employee
Governance Committee in each territory will conduct a final review and
allocate funds. Checks will be issued in August 2008.
