Axeda(R) Receives Prestigious VeriSign(R) Security Certification for Axeda(R)
ServiceLink(TM)
Latest certification reflects company's commitment to continuous investment in
providing customers with the most secure remote service

FOXBORO, Mass., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Axeda Corporation, the secure
remote service and support company, today announced that Axeda(R)
ServiceLink(TM) 5 has received the VeriSign(R) Security Certification for the
second consecutive year. VeriSign is the leading provider of security and
infrastructure services. Completion of the VeriSign Security Certification
validates that Axeda's internal security practices and technology meets the
ISO 27002/27001:2005 and Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)
standards around security and control for manufacturers and data centers.
"With enterprises collaborating more frequently with vendors and service
providers to maximize system uptime and reduce total cost of ownership, a
secure remote connection has become paramount in preserving network security,"
said Eric Goodness, Vice President, Managed and Professional Services,
Gartner. "Security certification from a trusted third party helps enterprises
more confidently adopt a multi-vendor access solution."
As the only remote service application vendor to be certified under the
VeriSign Certification Program, Axeda extends its remote service solution from
manufacturers to include enterprise data centers for secure, multi-vendor
access. As a result, data centers can now leverage the same high-degree of
security that manufacturers use to provide their customers with secure remote
access. This certification covers both Axeda ServiceLink product lines:
-- Axeda ServiceLink for Manufacturers enables product manufacturers to
maximize the value of the products that they sell through services that
increase uptime, streamline operation, and reduce cost of ownership.
-- Axeda ServiceLink for Data Centers provides secure collaboration
between manufacturers, service providers, and enterprises to maximize
data center equipment uptime while reducing cost, achieving compliance,
       and improving operations.

"This important certification for Axeda ServiceLink re-affirms our
continued investment in providing the highest levels of security to device
manufacturers and now enterprise data centers," said Dale Calder, president
and CEO, Axeda Corporation. "The comprehensive and independent VeriSign
Security Certification assures our customers that the integrity of their
information is protected, while receiving the benefits of remote service."
