CUPERTINO, Calif., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- iamba Networks, a leading
provider of gigabit passive optical networking (GPON) solutions today
announced the company has teamed with European sales representative, Scantec.
The move demonstrates iamba's sales strategy to bring iGES, iamba GPOB Eco-
System, a comprehensive GPON solution comprised of ASICs, software and
production-ready reference designs, to system vendors and ODMs worldwide.
"Europe is a large market and European operators are ready for the next
step in delivery of bandwidth to their subscribers. We are pleased to announce
our representative agreement with Scantec to deliver our GPON ASICs to the
European market. With Scantec's extensive experience with major European
system vendors and operators, iamba is poised to become a dominant player in
the European GPON market," said John Mein, VP sales, iamba Networks, Inc.
Last year iamba Networks introduced its GPON Eco-System -- iGES -- a
complete GPON solution suite, which enables Telecom Equipment Manufacturers

leading iSN1000, a family of 3 advanced GPON ONT SoCs with the fastest
throughput and lowest power, optimized for Single Family Unit, Single Business

requirements of the European operators market. By teaming with iamba Scantec
is now able to provide its customers with a comprehensive GPON solution,
ASICs, software and production-ready reference designs, which would minimize
their time-to-market market and maximize their profits," said Sten Waldo,
