Experienced Modeling and Simulation Leader to Support DoD M&S Community with
Critical Information Sharing and Training
MCLEAN, Va.--(Business Wire)--
Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions company,
announced that Robert Graebener, a veteran in the modeling and simulation (M&S)
industry, has been named Director of the Department of Defense`s Modeling and
Simulation Information Analysis Center (MSIAC). Graebener brings more than 30
years of M&S experience and leadership to the MSIAC, which is operated by Alion.
He will oversee the continued expansion of the center`s modeling and simulation
activities in support of programs throughout the government and with those
allied to DoD M&S initiatives.

Graebener will leverage his senior leadership and program management experience
in M&S, operations research and training to promote the use, deployment and
sustainment of M&S throughout the DoD community. This will enable the DoD to
have scientific, technical and operational corroborative data that is critical
to its missions and national security.

As an active Project Management Professional and member of the Project
Management Institute, Graebener has co-authored several M&S papers that were
presented at I/ITSEC conferences. He has served as the director of the Joint
Analysis System Project Office and has led the development of simulations
supporting experimentation and analysis studies of asymmetric operations.

"Bob`s selection as MSIAC Director reinforces the center`s commitment to
excellence in providing critical information exchange among the DoD M&S
populace," said Dick Brooks, Alion Senior Vice President and Manager of the
Distributed Simulation Group. "His leadership will facilitate MSIAC improvements
that can lead to better training and greater efficiency throughout the DoD`s
research, development and acquisition communities."

Brooks added that Graebener`s predecessor, Dane Mullenix, led MSIAC to
unprecedented levels of success during the past four years. Mullenix, who also
has many years of senior leadership and program management experience in
modeling and simulation, will now focus on supporting high-level M&S initiatives
for his Alion Sector and Group. Brooks thanked Mullenix for his exceptional
service to the customer and Alion, adding, "We are excited to have his direct
support to expand Alion`s modeling and simulation footprint."

MSIAC, a U.S. Department of Defense Information Analysis Center, supports the
M&S community and provides broad support for M&S programs throughout the
government. In addition, M&S University, developed by Alion for the MSIAC,
provides training on using M&S to make training, acquisition, logistics and
experimentation more effective. MSIAC is staffed with subject-matter experts to
provide users with focused, expert assistance and unbiased scientific, technical
and operational support information.

MSIAC`s work is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center, 1901 N.
Beauregard St., Suite 500, Alexandria, VA 22311.
